Successful Trader named Guman Chand Patwa decided to builting these havelis in 1800 and started to constructing in 1805, it takes nearly 50 years to get fully ready. 

One of these luxurious and fine structured haveli was used by him as his Private residence and others for business, Celebrations, Storage rooms and Offices. Later with time, these havelis are renovated and transformed into tourist spots, Government offices, Cultural/Antique shops, and Museums.

Architecture of Haveli

The style of Patwon Ki Haveli mixes Rajput and Mughal designs, built entirely of golden-yellow sandstone. Each haveli boasts beautifully carved facades, jharokhas (balconies), arched doorways and stylish pillars showing the wealth of historical Rajasthan.
