This place is a glorious fort which is located in the Aravalli mountain range in Jaipur, once known as Sudarshangarh. It was built by Maharaj Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734, along with its glorious past and imposing architecture, which attracts tourists from all over the world.  In addition to these historical views, it has an interesting palace, showcasing a mix of Indian and European architecture. History

The historical Nahargarh Fort was designed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, founder of Jaipur, and was built this fort on the majestic Aravalli hills as a beautiful destination with the carved walls of this fort extended that reach up to the Jaigarh Fort, which formed a wall of defence around the city of Jaipur. This place has always been a witness to several significant events in the past that took place within its premises, involving the signing of truces with the Maratha armies in the 18th century. During India’s first rebellion for freedom, the king of Jaipur shifted the Europeans living in that region within the walls of the historical fort.

Architecture

The long pillars of these wells are that, like most other step wells in India, they feature an asymmetrical design. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh believed that the restless spirit of the prince was not letting the construction proceed based on the guidance of the astrologer. This fort has the prominent architectural structure Diwan-i-Aam – a common architectural hall used by the historical kings to resolve complaints made by common people, where the construction work of the fort went so well. The fort has two-step wells, one inside the complex and another one to represent the Rajasthani culture and modern tradition.

Nahargarh Fort is located about 5 kilometres west of the Jaipur city centre. Here are some ways to reach the fort:

For Indian tourists:- The entry fees are Rs. 50 and for students, the ticket price for Nahargarh Fort is Rs. 5. For overseas tourists and students, the ticket prices are INR 200 and INR 25, respectively.

Nahargarh fort entry fee is free on some special events such as 18th April (World Heritage Day), 27th September (World Tourism Day), 30th March (Rajasthan Day), and 18th May (World Museum Day).

Nahargarh Biological Park

Nahargarh Biological Park is a sanctuary, sprawling across a 7.2 sq. km area in the Aravalli mountain range that is constructed to explore nature and wildlife. This fort must visit this park on our trip to Jaipur, which beautifully showcases the perfect blend of Rajasthani culture and modern tradition. There is a large zoo inside the Biological Park where Bengal tigers, crocodiles, Himalayan black bears, wolves, and Indian leopards can be seen in black cages.

Wax museum, Nahargarh Fort

A visit to the Jaipur Wax Museum at Nahargarh Fort is counted among the best things which is inaugurated in December 2016 by Bollywood actor Govinda, this museum features over 35 wax statues of personalities belonging to various fields, such as Bollywood, politics, sports, freedom fighters, social activities, and the Jaipur royal family. Jal mahal

This is the old and architectural palace, which was designed by Rajput and Mughal craftsmen, and is placed in the middle of the beautiful Man Sagar Lake. This fort is built using sandstone, where the four corners of this mahal are adorned by four elaborately carved walls in octagonal shape. This fort has a history starting from this, a big Bengal-style rectangular chhatri on the roof enhances the aesthetic appeal of the palace, and the spectacular palace seems to be floating on the lake’s surface.
