History of Kuldhara Village

In the early 1800s, Salim Singh, the Diwan of Jaisalmer, wanted to marry a local Brahmin girl without her consent. Under threat of aggression and paying more taxes, the villagers decided to completely leave Kuldhara and 83 surrounding towns in one night. They said a curse over the place, ensuring nobody would ever be able to dwell in it. The place is still abandoned and every attempt to bring settlers back has failed. 

Locals say they hear odd noises and see strange sightings, so many believe the area is haunted. Even without proof, the region attracts enthusiasts curious about its story, the stillness and the crumbling remnants.

Several haunted myths, stories, and local people connect with Kuldhara village. While, it doesn’t prove that is these are true or not? Some visitors get to see shadows, hear footsteps and strange noises, while some feel sudden cold.
