The Raja named it Jiyan Sagar after their mother, Jana Devi and it lies peacefully in the Aravalli hills, just 12 Km from Udaipur.

While Udaipur has several crowded tourist spots but Badi Lake is a peaceful and hidden gem of Udaipur with less crowd. It’s 180 meters long and 18 meters wide embankment has three lovely chhatris (cenotaphs), which give the area a regal touch.

In 1973, since there was drought, the Badi Lake supplied water to many people in Udaipur. Lately, people are using the lake water for business reasons.
